Port Stephens is a much loved NSW coastal region, close to Newcastle and just over 2.5 hours drive from Sydney. At first glance you’re immediately drawn in by the sparkling bay, gorgeous beaches, golf courses, whale watching cruises and let’s not forget the delicious freshly shucked oysters! You’ll also discover Horizons Golf Resort in Salamander Bay, the Nelson Bay Golf Club and Muree Golf Club at Raymond Terrace.

Medowie Macadamias is a well known cafe and plantation with mouth-watering and healthy meals, it’s the ideal location for a coffee catch up or you can do a tour of the macadamia farm (it’s just a 2 minute walk from Tallowood!). For all your fresh flowers, fruit and veggies The Little Tin Shed just a bit further down the road from Medowie Macadamias is the place to go. 

The Stockton Sand Dunes are a fantastic playground for adventure; with sand-boarding, quad biking and four-wheel driving popular plus you can go for a camel or horse ride, and the clear night skies mean it’s a wonderful place to view the Milky Way. 

At the other end of the spectrum for foodies, the opening of Bannisters Port Stephens at Soldiers Point has meant the addition of great dining options; the casual bar and eatery Cheeky Dog, exquisite seafood focused Rick Stein restaurant and the Terrace Bar. You may also like to enjoy a relaxing drink at the Shoal Bay Country Club with its beautiful views or try a few of the unique craft beers and scrumptious pizzas at Murray’s Brewing Co at Bobs Farm.
